-Shida went exploring in a remote area up in the snowy mountains after visiting the mountain village below. Turns out that someone actually lives up there and he stumbled upon their secret lab completely by accident. Curiosity got the better of him and he started to explore and whatnot. After seeing some disturbing shit he left and tried to focus on his exploring again, but decided to head back down to the village after realizing he couldn't focus at all. He neded to tell someone what he saw even if no one believed him. Upon coming back to the entrance to the lab door, he noticed that it was wide open. He knew for a fact that he had closed it. A crippling fear took over him before he worked up the courage to dash passed it. Without looking back he kept going, until something hit him causing him to drop. Blood stained the snow and he could just barely hear the footfalls of someone approaching his prone body. Try as he may he couldn't get up, crawling got him a few feet before he was caught and promptly knocked out. He woke up in a cage of sorts, stripped down to just his underclothes. He could clearly see that he was back in the lab. Looking around, he saw a man standing with his back to him presumably typing away at the computer before he turned around and smiled.
"Ah, you're awake. I was startin' to fear that I hit you too hard~ I must say though, you are quite an interestin' subject. Never got to experiment on a mage before. I'm sure we'll have a good time together." A sinister chuckle escapes him. "My name is Avant by the way. Now then, let's begin~"
He was subject to various experiments before Avant killed him by accident only to be shocked 30 seconds later when Shida woke up again. From then on the "trial" only got worse, testing him to his very limits over the course of two years. In those two years, he learned that there were 4 other people here not including himself and Avant, one of which was able to walk around freely. Numerous he called out to him, but he never answered, only staring blankly at him. Avant called him Velnar, and he always seemed to respond to it. Shida was also told of one of the other subjects that was here. One's name was Necros, according to Avant. It wasn't that he didn't care about the other poor souls here, it's just he wanted out, to bring help, to strangle his captor, to do anything to get away from this place.
After the 2 year elapse since Shida went missing, his friends were alerting by another saying that he never returned from his trip. The others dismissed it saying that he's been out this long before and that he was probably fine, also canning that argument of communication by saying that he was probably in a remote area with no reception. Still worried about the mage, Alfa went to her friend Alty to chat about this. It turns out that she shared the same feelings and went to round up others for the expedition. It took some planning and effort, but they got a group together consisting of: themselves, Hunter, Rickel, and Lira. Questions were raised on how they were going to go about this before they actually leave. A very important one was raised, "Who knows how to navigate snowy mountain terrain?". None of them had an any experience with this type of terrain. Lira chimed in that she knew someone who did. Everyone present knew who she was talking about, but none were too thrilled to have him tag along. They didn't hate him per say, but having someone who is extremely picky about doing certain things was likely to slow them down and cause more than a few problems. Unfortunately, they'll just have to put up with him for the sake of being able to do this.
Weeks passed until they were able to reach the village, they went around asking if anyone remember seeing Shida anywhere. No one seemed to have had any recollection of the boy. The inn staff did keep his possessions after they cleaned the room upon realizing that it had been too long since he disappeared. They were told that he went up into the mountains and had since never returned. The group was given the day to rest and wished the best of luck before they made their way up. Unknown to the group, Rickel asked if they had heard of anyone named Velnar. Looking back through the records, they did have someone by that name come through, but he like Shida never returned from the mountains and that was years ago.
There was much bickering among the group as they started the journey, for once Narza wasn't the center of it this time. It was between the friends on what they believed - Lira and Hunter were skeptical as to Shida could have gotten lost up here, as far as they knew and with Narza's confirmation, it was mostly a straight path with a few twists and turns. Alfa and Alty on the other had firmly believed that he was here somewhere. Rickel stayed silent through the argument, choosing to walk with Narza as to not get dragged into it. Night fell and the group had a tough time trying to cope with the howling winds and pitch darkness to get a "good" nights rest. Traveling resumed in the morning and they went further and further up the mountain.-
This was a dream I had the night before last. It played like a cinematic in my head. I kinda hope I have this dream again so I can see where my dreamscape will take, even though I think I know where it was going.
